The President's Message

In the name of God

I thank God that I am currently in charge of running The BHRC. According to the available documents, the BHRC tasks can be divided into four sections, including research activities, regulation, regulations and standards, technical certification, and training and promotion.
The BHRC is currently one of the most important research centers in the country due to the integration of the Research and Studies Center for Architecture and Urban development (established in 1999), the Transportation Research Institute (established in 2003) and other centers such as the Bitumen and Asphalt Institute (established in 1998) in The Building and Housing Research Center (established in 1973) has been established, which has a total of more than 70 years of valuable research and study experience.
Accordingly, the BHRC has been able to accurately and clearly understand the process of activities and measures, including evaluating the quantitative and qualitative goals of programs, along with explaining the current situation, identifying strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and experiences gained over the years. To provide the necessary grounds for eliminating the shortcomings and problems in the areas related to its activities in order to present a valuable set of strategies, policies and executive strategies to the planners and policy makers of the transportation, architecture and urban planning sectors. 
In this regard, the research policies of the BHRC in the future, based on meeting the needs of the country and in order to achieve sustainable development is planned and all research plans and projects with priorities such as industrialization and development of new technologies in implementation Building components and systems, providing lightening solutions in the construction industry, paying attention to the important issue of reducing earthquake risk and other natural hazards, solutions to reduce energy consumption in buildings, improving durability, quality and safety of conventional building materials and components, optimal design of electrical components and Mechanical buildings, preparation and development of databases related to the construction industry, providing solutions for sustainable development in the construction industry, increasing and promoting transportation safety, preparation and compilation of upstream documents and comprehensive transportation plan, planning in In particular, the optimal use of the existing capacity of the freight and passenger transportation network and creating a balance between supply and demand in all transportation branches, cost management in all levels of infrastructure of the transportation industry, quality improvement of concrete and asphalt procedures, focus on Realization of "citizenship rights" in the preparation and approval of urban development plans as well Explaining its position in urban planning and urban management system, documenting in the field of architecture and urban planning and rural settlements, promoting public insight, social taste and a sense of public aesthetics towards the categories of urban and rural architecture, paying attention to important categories of social studies Also, economic and welfare in the fields of transportation, housing and urban development, establishing a national observatory for physical development in the country and preparing a comprehensive scientific map of the country in the field of urban development and architecture studies and updating the comprehensive urban development and architecture research plan are defined. Also, research on the observance of consumption patterns in the production of materials and their application in construction is one of the policies initiated by the center and currently more than 300 research projects in the center are being carried out or managed by The center takes place.
Meanwhile, In the BHRC, Over the past years, hundreds of standards, regulations and instructions in the fields of materials and construction, architecture and urban development and transportation have been developed and used by experts and those involved in the construction, urban development and transportation sectors. Also, in recent months, the task of compiling national building regulations and reviewing the Iranian Concrete Regulations (ABA) has been entrusted to the BHRC.
Issuance of technical certification for construction materials in accordance with the statute of the BHRC in 1977 is done by the BHRC. Also, according to Article 26 of the Executive Regulations of Paragraph "D" of Note (6) of the Budget Law of the whole country in 2007 and then Article 26 of the Executive Regulations of the Law "Organizing and Supporting the Production and Supply of Housing" approved in 2009, the BHRC has been introduced as a reference for approving new technologies and industrial production methods of buildings.
In addition, BHRC has hosted numerous specialized seminars and training courses in various fields of construction, housing, architecture, urban planning, transportation, bitumen, asphalt and pavement over the years. These activities have been carried out in order to promote the expansion of knowledge and research findings as well as to develop the capabilities of the mentioned fields.
Obviously, these actions and activities, which are based on the ability and knowledge of research forces inside the BHRC, as well as cooperation with experts from other authorities, are carried out with the serious support of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
In the end, we hope that researchers and experts in the fields of transportation, construction, architecture and urban development across the country and thoughtful and expert compatriots in other countries, with their valuable opinions and guidance, help us to achieve the lofty goals of sustainable growth and development of the country.
